Overview

KUBRA is in growth mode and currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Product Engineering teams!

 

The Quality Assurance Engineer works with the Engineering and Service Delivery teams to ensure products implemented match specifications and overall quality standards. The QA Engineer will work on a wide range of projects, ranging from new and existing front-end web-based (mobile and desktop) applications to back-end API testing. You will be responsible for working closely with Product Engineering and Product Management teams to create test cases, execute test suites, and create automated test cases for web and mobile applications.

What you get to do every day

  • Act as QA champion on assigned projects
  • Perform multiple types of black-box, white-box, and grey-box testing including functional, system, end to end, data integrity, user acceptance, smoke, regression, and ad hoc testing
  • Ensure all test cases are completed within the required timeframe
  • Create automated tests for new and existing functionalities
  • Analyze requirements, develop testing strategies, and write test cases
  • Create automated tests for system performance
  • Submit comprehensive defects using our bug tracking system.
  • Regress and verify defects as needed, record test results, and provide metrics.
  • Design test plans from business requirements and specifications
  • Build and deploy software applications on multiple environments
  • Provide work estimates
  • Work with Application Support staff to troubleshoot production issues
  • Execute complex functional, and unit test cases within test environments with a high degree of accuracy, including manual end-to-end testing
  • Maintain test cases to be re-used for recurring and common (standard) projects
  • Assist in the parallel running of the current system to ensure the new product results are validated against existing live applications

What kind of person should you be?

  • Working knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC methodologies and Quality Assurance fundamentals
  • Understanding of programming concepts, best practices, and test automation fundamentals
  • Expert at troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues
  • Ability to produce accurate and precise work, detect discrepancies and resolve discrepancies while meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of issue tracking systems such as JIRA
  • Ability to create tests with or without business requirements or specifications
  • A high degree of flexibility and creativity
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with a high degree of professionalism
  • Excellent problem solving skills, a love for technical challenges, and a willingness to learn
  • Strong organization, time and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to stay focused on the task at hand, ensuring that timelines are met and operations are not adversely impacted
  • Strong work ethic, positive energy and thrives in a changing, dynamic environment
  • A passion for Quality Assurance and for doing things the right way and a curiosity to dig deep and help find the underlying issue

What skills do you need?

  • 4-5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role
  • Experience using Linux/Unix/Windows OS
  • Experience developing automated tests in one of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, C#
  • Experience with shell scripting languages (i.e. Bash, Powershell)
  • Experience with source control systems (i.e. GIT)
  • Experience with testing web services
  • Experience with one or more databases (i.e. SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Dynamo DB)
  • Experience with testing web applications in multiple browsers
  • Experience with testing mobile applications for both Android and iOS devices
  • Experience with creating automated test cases
  • Experience with Accessibility, Security, Performance and Automated testing.
  • Experience using automation testing tools (i.e. Selenium, Ranorex)
  • Experience in mobile application testing is an asset
  • Software development experience is an asset
